How to Make stuffing? A Traditional recipe.
Stuffing is occasionally called dressing and is usually accompanied by turkey. It is created of bread, vegetables, spices, and herbs and is a great addition to any dinner and breakfast. Making it in a slow cooker or baking it in the oven will allow you to concentrate on other things. For many of us, stuffing is the best part of a holiday meal, with endless variation in the choice of ingredients. However, instead of using an instant one, consider this quick and easy option to make stuffing.
Ingredients to serve ten
- 13-15 cups of dry bread cubes
- 1 1/2 cups butter
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup diced onion
- 2 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoons poultry seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups chicken stock
- salt and pepper to taste
Traditional Method
Step 1: Choose the bread and cut it into cubes.
Use heavier white bread so it can soak more juice. You can also use dried hot dogs or hamburger buns instead. If bread comes as a loaf, cut it into slices.
After choosing the proper bread, cut each slice into 1-inch cubs with the help of a zigzag knife.
Step 2: Bread toasting
Toast your bread cubes for 90 minutes, or you can also leave out your cubes of bread for a day to make them hard.
Step 3: Prepare the vegetables
Chop the garlic, celery, and onion. These vegetables go into the filling and will add flavor.
Step 4: Saute vegetables using butter
Melt the butter and saute the vegetables over medium heat. Wait for another 10 minutes until they tender. Once softened, add the sage leaves and cook for an additional 2 minutes and flavor them with salt and pepper.
Step 5: Make a Stock Mixture
Beat two eggs until they are smooth, and combine them with one and a half cups of chicken or vegetable stock. Continue mixing it and add pepper and nuts or dried fruit if you use them.
Step 6: Combine stock mixture with other ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the broth-egg mixture with toasted bread and cooked vegetables. Stir the mixture with a large spatula, tucking all ingredients together. Add more chicken flavored if you want your stuffing to be moister.
Step 7: Spoon mixture into a slow cooker or into a pan
Don’t forget to grease or spray the slow cooker or pan inside to keep the contents from sticking to the sides. After transferring the mixture, you are ready to cook the filling.
Step 8: Cook stuffing in a slow cooker or bake in an oven.
- Cook for 2 to 4 hours in a slow cooker. Set the slow cooker to low with the lid closed. Check the filling every hour to ensure it is not burning or sticking to the sides. Do not stir until the packing is done.
- Pour the filling into the prepared pan. Set the baking temperature to 350 and bake for about half an hour until golden brown.
- The stuffing should be crisp on the sides and bottom and soft and flavorful in the center.
How to make stuffing? With added sausages.

- 1 1/2 cups butter

- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoons poultry seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups chicken stock
- salt and pepper to taste
Traditional method
Step 1: Cut the bread into cubes.
Cut a bread loaf into slices, then re-cut them into half-inch to make a bread cube. After cutting up your bread, put them in a bowl and flavor them with salt and pepper.
Step 2: Toast the bread in the oven
Toast your bread cubes. Preheat your oven to 135°C. Spread your breadcrumbs on a baking sheet and place them in the oven once it’s hot. Monitor your breadcrumbs and pull them out to rotate the baking sheets, and shake up the breadcrumbs to help them crisp.
Step 3: Split up the sausage into small pieces.
You can either cut your break up your link with your hands. Try to keep your sausage pieces identical so they can all cook evenly.
Step 4: Cook the sausage in a pan.
Add a teaspoon of butter or oil and heat the pan to medium heat. Please do not burn your butter or allow it to brown. Once the pan is hot, add in your sausage and continue to cook for eight minutes it untitled it is brown and cooked.
Step 5: Cook the vegetables.
Add your celery, onion, garlic, and spices, and continue to saute them for 5 to 10 minutes until they are smooth. Do not stay on the heat too long, or they may become mushy.
Step 6: Mix up all the ingredients.
Stir your chicken stock and eggs in a large bowl and pour in your sausage while mixing. Add your bread cubes, sausage, and vegetables to it. Fold your mixture over thoroughly using a spatula. To make your stuffing moister, add more chicken flavors.
Step 7: Prepare your slow cooker.
Use cooking spray to grease the moister in your slow cooker. It will prevent food from sticking to the sides. Pour your mixture into the slow cooker and cook for four hours. Please set it to low and allow it to cook for 4 hours. Once it’s done cooking, let the stuffing set for 5 or 6 minutes before serving.
Or bake the mixture in the oven.
Spoon the filling into the prepared pan—preheat the oven and bake for about half an hour to turn it into golden brown crispy stuffing.
How to stuff a turkey?
Once you have done the cooking/ baking of stuffing in traditional style or sausage style, it’s important to spoon the stuffing into the turkey; you don’t want to pack it in—plan about three fourth cups of stuffing per 1 pound of turkey.
It’s safe to stuff the turkey instantly before placing it in the oven. Preheat the oven, and be ready to go.
