How to include someone in a text message group
- To add a person to a group message, tap the message.
- At the thread’s top, tap the group icons.
- After selecting Add Contact, press the grey arrow icon to the right of the contacts.
- Tap Done after adding the desired contact by typing their name.
If you want to add someone to a group message but they’re using a non-Apple device, you’ll need to make a new group SMS/MMS message because iMessage can’t add people to groups. A message conversation that you already have with just one other person cannot be joined.
How to remove a person from a text message group
- Select the contact you want to delete from the group message by tapping it.
- At the thread’s top, tap the group icons.
- To remove a contact, swipe left over their name after tapping the grey arrow icon to the right of the contacts.
- Select Remove, then select Done.
- If there are four or more individuals present and everyone is using an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can only remove one person.

How to send a text message to a group
- To leave a group text message, tap the message.

How to mute a text message in a group
- Simply tap the group text.
- At the top of the thread, tap the group icons. Hit the group icons up top if you’re on iOS 14 or an earlier version, then tap the Info button.
- Turn on “Hide Alerts” after scrolling down.
You can also swipe left over the group text message in your list of conversations and select the Alerts option. In iOS 15, the Hide Alerts icon can be shown next to the discussion on the right side when the feature is enabled. A crescent moon icon will show up next to the discussion on iOS 14 or before.
Block the contact
If you have no other choices, think about blocking a contact. If you can’t leave a group you didn’t request to join (like a spammer), your only choice is to block the group’s members.
Additionally, you can block communications sent by a specific member of a group.
On your iPhone, access the group chat. After that, tap on the contact group at the page’s top.

- Access to Previous Chats
